Healthy Woman 2017 – Inspiring Healthy Living, Families, and Communities

Chestnut Hill Hospital, Alpha Kappa Alpha Rho Theta Omega Chapter and New Covenant Church of Philadelphia present Healthy Woman 2017, a free wellness conference designed especially for women. The event will be held on the New Covenant Campus in Mt. Airy, 7500 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, on Saturday, October 7, 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. (7:30 walk). Wellness experts from the region will gather to empower women to live healthier lives through informative and interactive workshops and discussion.

The event kicks off with a one-mile wellness walk around campus led by GirlTrek, the largest public health nonprofit for African-American women and girls in the United States. GirlTrek encourages women to use walking as a practical first step to inspire healthy living, families, and communities. A viewing of the GirlTrek TED Talk follows the walk.

In addition, local medical professional will lead a panel discussion focused on loving and caring for yourself so you can be stronger and better prepared to help others. Attendees will choose from numerous workshops on topics such as mental health, nutrition and caring for chronic conditions. Free HIV and HCV testing will be provided by Philadelphia Fight.
